CQS Covid 19 Protocols
Clyde Quay School has specific protocols for operating at different Covid 19 Levels. These are outlined below. School whānau are notified when we change protocols as dictated by the NZ Government and advice from the Ministry of Health.
Covid Level 1

School is open for instruction from 9am - 3pm.

Students are able to come onto school grounds from 8:30am.

Students who are unwell must stay home.

Parents are welcome on site during the drop off and pick up process.

Parents should use the QR code to scan in when then enter the school grounds, even if it is for a short time.
Covid Level 2
ALL STUDENTS MUST:

Be in good health otherwise parents will be contacted to collect their child.

Maintain a breath zone distance, for children it means one arm’s length.

Observe hand washing and sanitising etiquette,
-
Bring lunch and a water bottle, no water fountains will be available.

Return lunch refuse home. Zero waste practice.

Arrive at the scheduled time (see below) and scheduled location. Staff will usher children to their whānau room.
No parents are allowed onsite during Level 2.
Hygiene

Hand sanitiser will be available in each class.

Each bathroom area has liquid soap and paper towels. Cleanliness of bathrooms will be checked throughout the day.

CrestClean will be doing a thorough clean of each room at the end of the day.
Physical set up
-
Learning spaces will operate breath zone distancing; for children this means one arm’s length (a breath zone).

Staff will monitor bathroom breaks, aiming to prevent crowding, and insisting on hand washing etiquette.
Equipment

All students will be expected to hand sanitise before and after use of shared equipment.
Learning Programme
-
Since all students are expected to attend, regular programmes will continue.

Papa Kāinga TV will still be available and used if required.
School Timetable

Separate arrival times, break times and departure times are scheduled to minimise risk (see tables below)

During breaks, students must maintain social distancing. Equipment will be provided but hand washing and sanitising etiquette before and after use will be the order of the day.
Arriving at school
-
Each group has a different start time. No students are allowed on site before this time.

Please line up ‘supermarket style’ keeping social distance.

Staff will greet students and direct them to their relevant classes. Parent farewells will happen at the gate.
Leaving School
-
Parents are asked to wait outside the school gates at their child's designated end time, maintaining social distance.
Group 1 - Harakeke, Pōhutukawa and Karaka (and the older siblings of these children).
Arrival time: 8.30 - 8.45am

Harakeke - wait outside main school entrance (yellow doors outside office).
-
Pohutukawa - wait outside lower gate.
-
Karaka - wait outside lower gate.
Departure time: 2.45pm

Harakeke - staff will exit children from staff carpark gate.

Pohutukawa - staff will exit children from staff carpark gate.

Karaka - staff will exit children from lower gate.
Group 2 - Ngaio and Rimu students
Arrival time: 8.45 - 9:00am

Wait outside lower gate for staff to supervise entrance and movement to class.
Departure time: 3:00 pm

Students will be dismissed from class and will exit through the lower gate.
Attendance Protocols

In order to control the numbers of people entering and exiting the school, it is imperative that children arrive and leave at the designated times.

If a student is unavoidably late, they must ring the bell at the main office entrance and when admitted, they must sign in as late.

If your child will not be attending school you must advise the school by SkoolLoop app, phone or email, stating the reason they will be away.

If a student needs to leave before the end of the school day, eg for an appointment, parents must ring the bell at the main office entrance, sign the student out and a staff member will collect their child and bring them to the office.
Covid Level 3

If a Level 3 lockdown is announced, school will contact all whānau to establish which students require onsite schooling, and who will remain at home.

For students of essential workers 'bubble school' will operate onsite. Specific information about this will be given to relevant whānau at the time.

All other children will be able to engage in learning through different of measures depending on individual circumstances. These include online learning (for a majority of students), home learning hardcopy packs, and Papa Kāinga TV.

No parents are allowed onsite during Level 3.
Covid Level 4

All students must remain at home. They will be able to engage in learning through different of measures depending on individual circumstances. These include online learning (for a majority of students), home learning hardcopy packs, and Papa Kāinga TV.

Staff will be in touch about borrowing devices to make online learning possible for your child/ren.
